Images from the Show and a day at Amalia's

We participated in the annual Santa Rosa Plateau Visitor Center Art Show this year and were well represented. The opening was really fun with lots of food and drink and a concert. I truly enjoyed sitting out in the evening air listening to the music and having the opportunity to see all of our work in a public setting. It was a great experience,
I had a chance to talk to the Ranger Rob Hicks about out group and he volunteered to drive  us all out to the adobe some morning to paint! I'm mentioning it now so that we can be thinking about what time of year would be best as far as painting and also temperature.
The show will be up through August but here's what we exhibited.

Last week we were at Amalia's after taking some time off for 4th of July and another day off for the heat.

Amalia got out an unfinished painting that she started in the early spring at Cathy's house and was able to find a photo of the actual tree on her iPhone. I love this one.

Here's Dolly's beach baby all finished.

She also finished the plain air landscape that she started at Jan's.

Jan got started in a painting of Amalia's courtyard and a photo below that somewhat exaggerated the shadow / light contrast that she has.

Cathy got a great start on this rose from her yard. Will add color next time.

Susan started this artichoke flower. Brilliant color.

Rita started one of the landscapes that she does so easily.

and there are things to come from Dolly...... this is a photo of her mom!

And a photo of the scene that Judy started.
