This was a pretty exciting week for exhibition. Dolly Carrick, Susan Frommer and Rita Brey attended the monthly meeting of the Murrieta Art Association and brought work to display. Each month there is a guest artist who gives a demonstration then awards prizes to the best paintings.
I'm very proud to announce that Susan won First Place, Dolly won Second and Rita won the Peoples Choice Award.
We might have to change our name to the Plateau Portrait Painters, although I'm sure we will get back to Plein Ait painting when the weather warms up just a bit. We are all planning to participate in the Visitors Center Art Show in the Spring. But here are some examples of what some of us are doing. I didn't get photos of Jan's or Cathy's studies but will include them next week

I had a pretty good week too. I participated in a fundraising show called fresh stART. It was a two hour sale and party at the Santa Monica Airport. The proceeds went to benefit a downtown arts program for kids but the artists got half and I asked retail prices. It turned out to be a huge event and I sold 11 small paintings! Rita asked me if I would put them on the blog so here they are. I'm sorry the files are so small. Better images are on my website.
