From Thursday before Thanksgiving

What a great surprise last class to have three new students joining us!
Welcome to Eliana and Lisa and welcome back Marianne.

Susan is almost finished with this dramatic painting of the mission in Arizona. Really nice textures are developing, as usual.

Susan J's landscape is also shaping up as she builds up paint creating a wonderful sense of distance.

This is a strong start of a loose tree painting from Marianne. Should have just another day before it's finished.

And Rita's latest....gorgeous.

Jan worked on her courtyard painting. The indoor/outdoor contrast is starting to work well here.

Lisa and Eliana had to do color charts  but then moved on to a simple still life to practice making saturated color in the light and neutralizing it with the opposite color in the shadows.
This is Lisa's painting and Eliana is below.

And here are Dolly's latest finished pieces. Amazing portrait of the baby.

This happens sometimes but I come away without a photo of a painting and this time it's Amalia's lady on black. I'll be sure to include it this week and thank you so much to Amalia for hosting us last month!
