From October 27 2011

Another perfect Fall morning at the Ramser's home.
I promised Joyce's sunflowers from last week Here it is.
I think she did a really good job making it look like actual flowers. And the text in the background works as well. Letters are difficult because they can change the way we look at a painting. All of a sudden you start reading. The letters here don't overpower the composition at all.

And here is another 6" x 6" from Joyce. I just love this one.

And Jan finished her pomegranates. I particularly like the fabric and the highlights in the fruit.

Amalia lightened the values in the background creating a little better contrast for her bear.

And Rita finished this landscape, another beauty.

Cathy had a very productive day. She put the last touches on her sunflowers then started a landscape from another one of Laura's photos. The landscape has a really interesting light source that cmae together at the last minute.

There is a lot of glare on this fireplace painting of Dolly's but it is really dramatic and the bricks surrounding the fireplace are astounding. Not finished yet but I can see it will be good.

Here is another still life from Laura of her produce. The underpainting is still pretty strong but this is aother strong composition that will make a successful painting.
