In LA, some of the kids went back to school this week but it seems like summer is just getting started. 

It was a gorgeous day at Susan's last week. I took more photos that these on the good camera but it went back to Jeff's work without my taking them off. I will have them immediately. We are going to experiment with reproducing them on stationary.

Here is Susan Frommer's painting. She will be adding foliage to the tree. Some of the red in the foreground is underpainting still. 

 And Laura made it back to class and got a really strong start on this painting of the veranda. There will be great light and shadow. Laura had started this composition once and had the beginnings of a painting that she had some doubts about just because of the composition. I think she made a good choice to start over and get something that she really believed in.

This is Amalia Ramser's painting. I think it's about 16" x 20".  Almost complete. I'll post a better photo in the next entry. There is really good space in this one. It's gorgeous!
