Hot August Days

We stayed inside this week when we were at Susan's because it was just too hot. We had a small but very productive group.

RIta finished this painting she started the week before.

Susan worked on her glaze painting. I don't know how she managed it but the pointsettia that she painted in the spring was still blooming.

And Joyce did this gorgeous painting in one session. There really is something great about these fast paintings.

This is a little off the subject but a couple of weeks ago Joyce and Judy were talking about breakfast, nutrition or something like that and Joyce shared that she makes a super breakfast smoothie. Here's the recipe.
1 bell pepper, 1 cucumber, 1 apple, 1 yellow squash, fresh strawberries, basil, 1/2 pkg. frozen fruit, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 scoop super seed, vitamins and 1/2 cup orange juice.
I can't wait to try this.

And finally, I susbsribe to an art newspaper called ArtDaily. They had an article on religious paintings by Rembrandt. If you look through it you can see how he uses glaze painting technique.

If you are interested in getting high resolution photos of any of your paintings,  I will be bringing the camera tomorrow. :)
