Since the 405 is closed down I decided to stay in this morning and take care of some things around the house. I just got a note from a friend who is out and said there is so little traffic is looks like the
'Car Rapture.'
Anyhoo, we had a really good session yesterday. Some students couldn't change their schedules around so if you couldn't be there, here's what we did.
Jan Pierce has a beautiful courtyard painting that will be ready next week ( my photo didn't turn out -but I just had to mention it because it's great)
Here's a summary of where we are with the glaze paintings. Amalia and Cathy have their small ones near completion.
And Dolly has her wine still life almost finished too.
Cathy needed to start a new painting because these two fabulous pieces are finished. She took my challenge to so a painting of the water lilys in one day and did the most beautiful little 6" x 6" piece.
I didn't get a good photo of that either- next week for sure !
And just so no one gets bored, Rita is starting on a painting that looks like it's about 5 feet high.
Judy continues with her animal painitngs. The one of the three horses isn't finished but has great potential becasue of the light source on the sides on the animals. She's getting some nice violets in the shadow.
And it was great to have Susan Frommer back in class. She was much missed after her metals workshop in Idylwild. Her courtyard painting is coming along fine.
We are at Amalia's again next Thursday!
