Thursday was a really wonderful. Here we are, actually Cathy and Susan. Click on the image to see the paintings a little better. Susan is starting to work on a larger format and I am really excited to see what comes from it. She has a unique problem/gift as a painter in that she is an informed botanist and knows lots and lots about the details of plants. This will ultimately make her a great oil painter but can trip her up as she explains detail before the larger shapes and colors are resolved.
here's what Laura is painting. we had some conversation about why roads don't want to stay flat. Dolly nailed it in the oak tree painting from a few weeks ago.
and I just caught this glimpse of Rita's plateau's edge painting/ It will be transformed again next time we see it.
And I'm putting in a little painting that Jan did at Joyce's three weeks ago. Jan finished an incredibly ambitious snow painting- 25 shades of white- and there was still an hour of class. She did this little one in an hour! It's 4" x 5".
ans since I am thinking of Jan, here is one of that she finished earlier in the year that I think is very interesting and successful. reminds me of Vuillard.
I like your blog!...Daniel
