We had a small but productive class on Thursday. The weather was overcast for the first hour then just perfect - kind of the usual plateau mild gorgeous day. Finally we have some glaze paintings to post!
Dolly and Rita finished with great success. Click on the images to see more detail.
Amalia has her second coat of blue on her still life.
and finished her painting of the oaks. I love how she captures the yellow as it passes in back of the trees.
We have a new student. Welcome to Judy Pittman!!
Here's what she got started. I think it is really difficult to deal with all the challenges of oil paint, painting outdoors from observation, color, drawing and on and on. So I always tell new students not to expect to get anything that is very good for at least three or four tries. Judy is proving me wrong. This is a really excellent start.

And here's Laura's painting.
Laura worked on a painting started on Susan's porch. She moved the composition around to include the elements that she liked including a monster aloe plant and some tile that is blue but not exactly this turquoise. I like it a lot and was reminded of something I heard one of my favorite painters, Wayne Thiebaud, say, " You can do things in painting that you can't do in life."
Here's a link to some of his images
