Joyce checked out where the shade was on her patio and we set up around that and everyone stayed cool.
Rita painted the Bougainvillea from observation and really captures the 'gesture ' of the plant as well as its color and depth.
Joyce's glaze painting is coming together. She did a great job controlling the two shades of green and the little yellow touch that pushed the leaf right into the foreground.
Jan's horse painting is just about finished. Just a few details left.
Dolly worked on a landscape painting from a photo of some incredibly blue flowers that grow in the backcountry. The photo didn't have that much compositional interest in the foreground so she added an oak and perhaps a road to create a better sense of space
And she brought another finished still life. She started to incorporate glazing into her techniques and it really makes nice depth in the bottle and also on the wall.
Susan and Amalia had good work that I photographed but my pictures were blurred. Will feature them asap.
Hopefully we will be able to work on sunflowers this week. I will be in touch later this afternoon. In the meantime, here's something from me!
